英語の「until + 主語 + 動詞」と「by the time + 主語 + 動詞」の違い
until は「その時までずっと」続くことに使い、by the time は「その時までに（もう済んでいる）」ことに使います。続く動作か、期限までに済む動作かで選びます。

「その時までに済む」ことは by the time です。until は続く動作に使います。
覚え方・注意点
- by the time のあとの節は、未来のことでも現在形にします（by the time you arrive）。
- until は続く動作が「その時にやむ」ことを、by the time は「その時までに済む」ことを表します。
- by the time の主な文は、完了形（had left / will have left）になることが多いです。
